See me in action at the Sex-Positive Parenting Weekend Intensive August 25th and 26th at the Center for Sex and Culture in San Francisco, CA
A series of 4, 90-minute interactive workshops with the overarching title of Sex-Positive Parenting; Strategies and Support for Families. Each workshop is stand alone with a specific focus, but taken together are a comprehensive curriculum.
Being a sex-positive parent means we understand that parents and children come in all genders and sexualities. The majority of sex ed materials come with an overarching assumption that all parents are heterosexual, or want to be heterosexual, or should be mimicking a heterosexual dynamic. The gender binary is still the default template when teaching parents how to talk to their children about sexuality.
This series of workshops is designed for parents who want to learn how to convey their lived experiences of both gender and sexuality to their own children. We can replace those larger cultural scripts that are inherently sex-negative with age-appropriate messages that are inclusive to sexual diversity.
